Research Interest:
Mitochondria are the “power house” and “powder house” of the cell, controlling a variety of pivotal cellular processes such as metabolism, cell death, innate immunity, etc. The duality of mitochondria, Yin and Yang, highlights the importance of mitochondrial homeostasis for the cell function. We focus on the mechanisms of maintaining mitochondrial homeostasis, such as mitophagy, mitochondrial dynamics, and mitochondrial biogenesis. We are also interested in developing new mitochondria-based strategies to screen compounds, aiming to delay aging and cure mitochondrial diseases.
