Research Interest:
1. Mechanical and thermal property regulation based on twisted structure. ① The "twisted core-shell structure" hydrogel fiber was developed, realizing the multi-level structure characteristics of spider like silk, and achieving the strength and toughness close to natural spider silk through organic polymer synthesis.
② The addition of twist introduces chirality, amplifies the length change of fiber under humidity, and develops intelligent responsive fabrics based on all natural fiber materials such as silk with twist structure.
③ The twisted structure reduces the entropy of the material, breakthrough in increasing the refrigeration efficiency of the elastomer from 32% to 67%, which is a significant improvement in the elastothermal refrigeration efficiency of polymer elastomers. And discovered various elastic thermal refrigeration materials based on twisted structures, expanding the scope of solid-state refrigeration technology.
2. Regulation based on the electrical properties of fold structures. We have developed elastic conductors based on zero Poisson's ratio folded structures and achieved the regulation of conductive pathways. We have prepared a highly linear resistive strain sensor at 200% strain, which solves the problem of poor linearity of resistive strain sensors under large deformations; Based on this, a multi-level collaborative artificial muscle fiber was constructed to simulate neural conduction, strain sensing, and driving. This provides new ideas for the development of multifunctional flexible intelligent materials.
